- SCORE Webinar: Impactful Speaking and Presenting for Today’s Business Challenges
May 7 - 10 am While the fundamentals for delivering effective talks or presentations remain the same, the details have changed a lot! Today's leaders, or professionals must be comfortable delivering talks that last one hour or five minutes and that fit in with today's more visual and relational approach. Speakers must also be effective delivering in person or online. This talk equips participants with a new understanding of influence, communication and use of information aligned with our new cultural and technological environment.
- Webinar: Site Tweaks to Increase Reach
May 7 - 11 am When businesses build digital communications that allow people with disabilities to perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with products and services, it expands their market. Implementing accessibility best practices can help businesses grow, and improve the experience for all users. In this session we’ll outline what accessibility means online. Learn how to design for accessibility: web pages, email, tips for being more inclusive as well as tips for physical spaces.

Do you know what your communication style is? Do you think about the communication style of others? The workshop will cover: Who are Difficult People? – Differences – Behavioral Profiles – Communication Styles Ways to deal with Difficult People – Strategies and how to apply them
- SBDC Webinar: Passing Your Small Business On: Succession Planning
May 23 - 10 am It takes a lot of planning and hard work to build a small business. If you're an owner, you've probably put a lot of thought into how to market your product or service, your competition, and your balance sheet. But have you thought about what will happen to your business when you are no longer running it? Maybe your plan is to pass the business on to your family, assuming that they have the desire and know-how to manage it without you. Or maybe your thought is to sell it, assuming that you have a willing buyer when you want to sell. More often than not, however, it's the unplanned events - financial hardship, disability, or sudden death - that can ruin the business you've worked so hard to create. A succession plan is like a road map for the survival of your business into the future. It sets forth what you want to happen to your business after a particular event. It could be planned, like your retirement, or unplanned - sudden death or incapacity, or an economic downturn. Without a plan, family conflicts about management and ownership could end in business failure. A succession plan gives you a say in the future of your business instead of leaving it up to chance. It gives you peace of mind!
