The Youth Leadership program is open to high school seniors ready to level up their leadership skills, get involved in the community, and earn scholarship opportunities along the way. Participants will gain hands-on experience, serve their community, stand out on college applications, and build their resumes – all while exploring the community they call home. Students participate in educational sessions and community service projects throughout the year.
Upon successful completion, participants are eligible for scholarship opportunities.
The program is free of charge, but class size is limited to 25 students.

- SCORE Webinar: Communication Styles and Conflict Resolution
May 20 - 10 am The modern workplace continues to change, impacted by multiple generations and a strong emphasis on individualization. How do you deal with all the differences? Do you know what your communication style is? Do you think about the communication style of others? This workshop identifies behavioral differences and styles of communication offering strategies to turn conflict into cooperation. The workshop will cover: Who are Difficult People? – Differences – Behavioral Profiles – Communication Styles Ways to deal with Difficult People – Strategies and how to apply them
- SBDC Webinar: Passing Your Small Business On: Succession Planning
May 23 - 10 am It takes a lot of planning and hard work to build a small business. If you're an owner, you've probably put a lot of thought into how to market your product or service, your competition, and your balance sheet. But have you thought about what will happen to your business when you are no longer running it? Maybe your plan is to pass the business on to your family, assuming that they have the desire and know-how to manage it without you. Or maybe your thought is to sell it, assuming that you have a willing buyer when you want to sell. More often than not, however, it's the unplanned events - financial hardship, disability, or sudden death - that can ruin the business you've worked so hard to create. A succession plan is like a road map for the survival of your business into the future. It sets forth what you want to happen to your business after a particular event. It could be planned, like your retirement, or unplanned - sudden death or incapacity, or an economic downturn. Without a plan, family conflicts about management and ownership could end in business failure. A succession plan gives you a say in the future of your business instead of leaving it up to chance. It gives you peace of mind!
