Tuesday, November 11
Take time today to reflect on the role our community’s veterans have played in protecting our freedoms—they risked everything for our right to disagree, to speak freely, to worship as we choose, and to pursue our dreams. Veterans Day marks a time to honor all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and recognize their continued contributions after service.
Here at the Chamber of Commerce, we also celebrate the strength and vision veterans bring to our local businesses. Veteran-owned businesses are vital to our economy, providing jobs, innovation, and leadership rooted in discipline and teamwork. In fact, veterans own millions of businesses nationwide—generating over $1 trillion in annual revenue and enriching our local marketplace with unique skills, products, and services. They not only create employment opportunities for fellow veterans and civilians but also foster community engagement, support charitable causes, and drive prosperity for all.
As you thank a veteran today, remember their impact goes beyond military service—it continues across shopfronts, office spaces, and local communities. Supporting veteran-owned businesses is one meaningful way we can honor their service and dedication - now and throughout the year.
Let’s remember that freedom is not an abstract idea—it’s a daily reality secured by real people. Reach out, thank a veteran, or simply pause to honor their service and sacrifice. Their courage continues to shape the nation we call home.
