PACE Comes to Pecos County and Fort Stockton

Texas PACE Authority (TPA) is administering Pecos County’s recently adopted Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program.

PACE is a financial tool that incentivizes Texas property owners to upgrade facility infrastructure with little or no capital outlay. PACE enables owners to lower their operating costs and use the savings to pay for eligible water conservation, energy efficiency, resiliency, and distributed generation projects. Owners gain access to private, affordable, long-term (typically 10-20 years) financing that is not available through traditional funding avenues.

PACE can be used for a variety of business types including commercial, non-profit, industrial, agricultural and multi-family. A few examples of energy efficiency and water conservation upgrades that qualify for PACE financing include: insulation, windows, roofing, LED lighting, HVAC upgrades, solar panels and reuse of gray water. When property owners upgrade their facilities, jobs for contractors are created, too.

PACE financing has enabled the repurposing of old buildings into their new, highest, and best use and can fill gaps in the capital stack for new construction projects as well.  PACE is creating economic growth, job creation, and increased efficiency and resiliency in the built environment throughout the state and is now available throughout Pecos County.
